SAP just released SAP Business One FP2508. The new release is focused on the cloud with tons of enhancements to the web client.

Focus on the SAPB1 Web Client

This 8 minute video from SAP shows a variety of improvements in the SAPB1 web client. This release nearly completes the base functionality of the rich client including:

Attachments,
Copy from,
Deposits
Multi-Language Support
and much more.

The web client also includes many usability enhancements including anchors, complex customizable controls, and more analytics.

Web Client Extensibility

The SAP Business One Web Client is now “cloudier” with more support for customizing the web client. These tools enable creation of add-on functionality without impacting the core SAP application. SAP standard personalization with user defined fields (UDFs) has been in the web client for some time, but SAP partners have been looking for greater functionality similar to user defined values (UDVs).

Now SAP has published more information on how to manipulate the web client with code. Although these tools are not “user-friendly,” customization rarely is.

Its Time to Look at the SAPB1 Web Client

Many partners and customers have been waiting to upgrade and/or deploy the web client. With this latest release more functions and business users roles are ready to go browser. Many users, especially those from the younger generations, love the user interface. For more information on this new way to SAPB1, check out:
