A code of conduct is important for establishing trust, promoting ethical behavior, and protecting a community’s reputation. It also helps ensure that members are making decisions that are consistent with the community’s values. Ethics cannot be mandated, nor can it be driven as a result of a contract or document. Members who choose not to abide by this general code of conduct, could be viewed by the B1 Community members as being disruptive to the association, culture, and environment of trust that we are all working so hard to create.
Code of Conduct
General
B1 Community members should conduct business with the knowledge that their actions reflect on the entire B1 Community, SAP Business One eco-system and on SAP itself.
B1 Community members should strive to gain and maintain thought leadership within the industry segments they choose to support.
Member Interaction
Partners & End Users
Conduct business in such a way as to protect and represent the customer’s best interests.
All actions should reflect well on the Partner of Record, as well as the entire B1 Community.
Maintain the confidentiality of the customer information that has been entrusted to you.
Do not undermine a Partner-of-Record (POR) by servicing an existing customer. Answering questions, supplying resources, or establishing a relationship, without prior discussion with their Partner-of-Record can create system processing errors, disputes or collection issues.
Customers may change partners for a variety of reasons, and if approached to become a new Partner of Record (POR), it is in everyone’s best interest for partners to discuss the current situation before accepting a POR change. Do not solicit customers for a Partner of Record change.
Marketing & Communication
Community members will avoid soliciting other community members for products or services currently being performed by another community member.
No community member shall use membership information to solicit a member to a competitive software to SAP.
No member shall publicly defame, disparage or malign another member publicly or in an SAPB1 Community forum.
Members and their Employees
B1 Community members will create an environment where career and personal growth are fostered.
Members will refrain from soliciting another members employee while that employee is still gainfully employed with the organization.
Should an employee approach an B1 Community member about a position, the member should take care to treat the current employer with respect and appropriate deference to ensure that the relationship has no appearance of solicitation.
Members will respect and abide by any non-disclosure agreements that a member has with their employee.
Members & Solution Providers
Treat all community members as you would treat your customers.
Expect to pay a fair price in a timely manner for the products and services obtained from a member who is your partner, solution or service provider.
B1 Community Members respect the software licensing agreements of any other B1 Community member. The intellectual property, managed services, or other products and services being utilized by a prospect/customer that were supplied by another B1 Community member must be protected.
Violations of the Code of Conduct
Any violations of the code of ethics should first be discussed with the person and/or organization you believe to be in violation.
If a member approaches you or reports a violation from your organization to you, listen to their position with respect and perspective. If you agree, take appropriate action. If you disagree, present your position in a respectful manner.
Should the members be unable to reach a mutually acceptable resolution of the alleged violation, the issue can be reported to a Community Manager or Executive Director.
The SAPB1 Community is not a court of law, nor is it required to take any action as a result of the violation. However, if the violation is considered egregious enough by the Community Manager, Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors membership privileges may be revoked and no refunds shall be provided.
