The SAP Partner Summit for Midmarket was a showcase for the future of SAP Business One. The clear message to the partner community was that SAP Business One’s transformation to the cloud will be 100% complete in the upcoming version 11.
In addition, SAP recognizes the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Accordingly, they are supporting Business One with the enterprise Business Transformation Platform as well as third party products.
Cloud Service Providers Filled The Halls
The exhibit hall was filled with a wide variety of SAP Build and SAP RUN partners demonstrating and discussing the latest advancements in their enhancements. There were only a few new functional product exhibitors like Open Solutions Manufacturing vying to be a competitor for Boyum, Lynq, and Process Force.
The expansion of Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) in number and service offerings was significant from last year’s conference.
Many of the CSPs are rolling out their own artificial intelligence solutions for SAP Business One:
- Private AI platforms to increase confidence and security over customer data.
- Chatbots for help and search and reporting on SAP B1 data.
- Use of AI agents for smart provisioning
The future of SAP Business One is definitely cloudy with 100% chance of Artificial Intelligence!
Artificial Intelligence Starting to Rise
MyWave has taken the early lead in Artificial Intelligence for SAP Business One. Featuring:
- an ever expanding roster of templates
- Numerous former SAP staffers and executives
- Most CSPs as infrastructure partners.
- An impressive list of SAP service partners to develop AI Waves.
However, they are not alone in the market. Many Software Solution Providers showcased AI components embedded in their solutions. For example, Coresystem’s demonstrated InsightLoop for customer service.
In the next year you will see additional standalone AI Agents available for SAP Business One along with Robotic Process Automation middleware adding agents to their platform. Additionally several partners have developed simple agents and industry solutions for their customers.
SAP Business One Web Client Continues to Improve
The SAP Business One transition to “true cloud” is accelerating. Starting years ago with the release of multi-instanced SAP HANA in memory cloud and the Cloud Control Center, all B1 needs is a true client-less application interface. The web client initiative began with and will be completed in version 10. Initial functionality was quite limited, but the browser interface is now quite functional for vanilla usage of the application. As these features have been enabled in the browser, they have been re-envisioned rather than simply replicated. For example, in the traditional client application the receipt of inventory with serial numbers in a specific location took 3 steps. In the web client it takes only 1!
The latest release 2502 contains strong analytics, previously missing financial features and the start of the “personalization” capabilities that make SAP Business One great. With the increase in focus and investment in the web client, Partners were encouraged to begin migration of their enhancements to the new web archtiecture.
