Autonomous Enterprise is Coming to SAP Business One
On May 21, 2026, 67 people attended the B1 Community’s AI in B1 roundtable discussion. The session contained three main sections:
- Current Use of AI in B1, (purposes, tools and results)
- ROI of AI with B1 today and tomorrow (how, when and why)
- Governance and Security (real vs. perceived threats)
Feedback from the session has been overwhelmingly positive, as is the anticipation for AI in B1!
Autonomous Enterprise discussions dominated SAP’s Sapphire conference. Although those sessions focused on the SAP Business Suite, SAP Business One is delivering similar capabilities for the small to mid-sized market.
About 58% of attendees were SAP consulting partners or independent consultants. Participants also included solution providers, SAP B1 customers and consultants to the profession. Feedback from the session has been overwhelmingly positive, as is the anticipation for AI in B1!

Current Usage of AI in B1
About half of the participants at the roundtable are already using AI in B1. We heard use cases for payables automation, production planning and management, financial reporting and more.

ROI in SAP Business One
ROI for artificial intelligence has been hard to prove in both the large enterprise and the SMB market. AI is genuinely transformative, but only for the right processes, at the right volume, under the right conditions. Often the ROI is hard to produce because the underlying data and process knowledge required for successful implementation of AI is missing.
Shelly Bitter from I-Business Network kicked off the conversations with the 4 key factors that make AI automation or agentic AI attractive. Martin Gore then provided real life examples from Computec projects. The video from this session can now be found in our B1 Community Forum.
Governance and Security for AI in B1
Gary Feldman started the conversation by comparing governance in AI to human resources management policy and how we need to strike a balance between detailed requirements and common sense. The majority of the conversation was led by Moshe Nachman of ERPure.ai and Michael Hollinger founder of Clevik. These technical experts explained how to build guardrails against hallucinations and protect customer data from public exposure in plain english. "Take Aways" from AI in B1
AI is being used by our members, their customers and individuals. Artificial intelligence is evolving and improving and becoming more present in our lives. Today we are using copilots, processing AP invoices and enriching data. In the future powerful AI agents will create a more “autonomous enterprise” in SAP Business One.
We discussed importance of understanding the “data architecure” in our environments and securing that data so we can achieve the ROI on AI investments. The ROI can be earned by reducing costs, increasing capacity, improving accuracy or making better decisions. Each organization will find its own path to AI in B1.
