🔥SAP Business One March 2026 Roadmap: Two Promises. One 😋Ghost. Zero Mention o

The 2026 roadmap commits to two things that deserve a second read:

“Extend DI API and Service Layer coverage.” “Service Layer support for Microsoft SQL Server.”

Both sound progressive. Both share the same architectural ceiling.

Neither mentions 🔥OBServerDLL.dll🔥.

Navigate to %temp% on any production SAP B1 server.

Find SM_OBS_DLL.

That folder — dynamically extracted at runtime — contains the binary that has powered every SAP B1 business transaction since the product existed.

Tax calculation. Inventory posting. Financial closing.

Not the DI API. Not the Service Layer.
The DLL.

🔥 On extending DI API coverage: Page 29 — RoadmapPDF🔥

DI Server = Passive support. Service Layer = The stated future. OBServerDLL.dll = The actual present of both.
Extending coverage on an API in passive support — while its successor inherits the same binary dependency — is an interesting definition of “extension.”

🔥On SQL Server Service Layer parity: Page 29 — RoadmapPDF🔥
Service Layer was born HANA-native.
SQL was retrofitted.

The 🔥OData surface can be equalised.
The 🔥OBServer execution behaviour beneath it — on a 🔥columnar in-memory engine versus a 🔥row-based engine — cannot be equalised by a roadmap commitment.

🔥B1SLQuery suffix. dbo schema. You know why.

Version 11. 2027. “Limited overlap.”
Until then — when the integration fails at midnight and the log reads:

🔥GetNewLibraryFromServer: LoadLibrary failed
Observer file: SM_OBS_DLL\OBServerDLL_{build}.dll

You know what to do.
Delete. Restart. Wait for the next roadmap.
